Music Monday – Drum Crazy

Yesterday was Easter. Baskets. Eggs. Candy. Some treasure hunt of some sort. Easter dresses and suits. Church and religious connotations. Family dinner.

My tradition is watching a good dinner and watching Easter Parade with Judy Garland and Fred Astaire. I’ve been watching it for years now and have my grandparents to thank for my love of old movies like this. The talent of the dancers/singers was incredible, even if the screenplays weren’t all that…

One of my favorite numbers in Easter Parade is Fred Astaire in the toy store dancing and singing…

Do you enjoy old movies?

Music Monday – Takin’ Pills

I’m trying to get life back to some semblance of normalcy. Our cat is still terminally ill and it was important to me to be able to help my children as well as my husband and myself cope with it, get to that place of acceptance. It’s been expensive simply to find out what’s wrong. Now that we know a little better what we’re dealing with, we’re able to put it in perspective, know the signs, and can move forward.

With that in mind, I’ve been writing more, doing some revisions, getting my work back moving forward as well… So, let’s let my sarcastic side take over for a bit and see where we end up…

Music Monday – Hush Hush

I listen to a lot of different music when I’m writing. I listen to a lot of different music depending on my mood. It will either lift, or enhance it depending on what exactly I need at the time.

Today’s song is well… We aren’t supposed to talk about things that bother us, people who bother us (nor are we really supposed to tell people they bother us or hurt us for fear of hurting them), money, readers, our kids, husbands, work, politics, religion, etc… And when it comes to family, I’m sure we can all relate to the ‘things we’re not supposed to speak of’. You know, the family secrets because it’ll upset the delicate balance and ruin the facade. Really? What will the neighbors think? 😉

This song, is about exactly, that… But it applies to a lot of areas of life and it’s a hoot. Snarky to be sure, but as the lyrics say, don’tcha know the truth hurts…

Music Monday – Gonna Get Over You (NSFW)

And no, this version of Gonna Get Over You by Sara Bareilles is NOT safe for work or likely mixed company (young kids or those offended by the word F*CK. Now, the actual embed link has been disabled by either YouTube or someone else, but… The share link still works.

This sentiment is a lot how I’m feeling of late with some things, some people, some issues, and it’s the best way I could come up with to express such and smile while doing so.

I’ve also added Miranda Lambert’s New Strings… about striking out on your own, proving those wrong who said you couldn’t do it, leaving the old ways behind…

There are new feelings, new experiences, new challenges… And whole year ahead to take chances…
