The birthday I remember with the most affection came when I turned twelve. We’d lost our family pet, a sweet, elderly dachshund named Susie, a few months earlier. It was a sad time for all of us, especially my parents – they’d had Susie since before I was born. After that, my mother put her foot down and said no more pets for awhile. She just couldn’t handle losing another one.
Then my grandmother’s cat had kittens, and they were six of the most adorable balls of fluff I’d ever seen. I wanted one so badly, but Mom said no. But grandmothers have a way of getting what they want. So when Gram showed up at my birthday party cradling one of the kittens in her arms, Mom gave her a stern look, then turned to me and said, “Fine, you can have it. But you have to clean its box every day and feed it!”
All of which I did gladly. Since that day, I’ve been a confirmed cat person. In fact, there’s a little black-and-white fellow named Timothy warming my feet right now. 🙂

Renowned mezzo-soprano Colette DuPlessis is carrying on a torrid affair with her costar, handsome young tenor David Lewis. David wants Colette as more than just a short-term fling, but she must return home to Paris—and her husband, conductor Aleksandr Petrovsky.
Though she and Aleks have an open marriage, Colette vows never to see David again. But when her new costar cancels right before opening night, she has no choice but to suggest David as a replacement.
It doesn’t take long before Aleks notices the amazing chemistry sizzling between David and his wife—and realizes he’s attracted to the gorgeous young singer himself. He and Colette quickly make it their mission to seduce him.
The three of them explore the far reaches of pain and pleasure. But Colette and David both soon learn they must guard their hearts closely, or risk losing themselves within this entangled trio.

Go Grandma! LOL Cats totally rock, they have such strong personalities and, when they allow you to cuddle them, are great for cuddles.
What a sweet cat story. Who can resist an adorable little kitten?!

I love the way cats look but can’t see myself owning one. I am a huge dog person, I remember when I had to give my dog up, cried for days. My girls want one so badly maybe one day I will surprise them like your grandmother surprised you.
I adore cats, unfortunatly I’m allergic and so is my entire family. I’ll go to a pet store just to play with them for a few minutes. Then I scrub my hands and make sure I’ve taken allergy medicine, but leave with itchy watering eyes and sneezing. But, they are just too cute to resist.
They book sounds combustable. Manèges are probably my favorites.

Entangled Trio is on my TBR list. It sounds so good,I can’t wait to read it.
What a great birthday present! I am a dog and cat person. Right now we have a poodle dog. I had a yorkie dog but she got out of the house on us and hit in the road. The last cat we had, Salem, was an outside cat. He ended up getting hit in the road too. We live on the main highway and it’s not kind to animals. That’s why we don’t have a cat now. Salem was a rescue cat. My sister was walking up the hollow below us and someone gave it to her. They was just going to drop it off in a place where no one was or it couldn’t get any food. It was real skinny too when we got it.
I am a cat person also. They are just so cute and loveable.
This book looks really good and I definitely want to read it.
I think Grandparents are meant to spoil us! So happy your birthday wish came true!

I’ve only ever owned one cat, a male, independent cat who chose to run the neighborhood. Had no love for his humans, except our 2 year old who was allergic. That was years ago as our son is now 22. We do have 3 dogs though and we babysit the oldest son’s two dogs, he is in the Navy. We’ve been babysitting for over two years, I think we actually have 5 dogs, don’t cha think? lisagk at yahoo dot com
I too, am a cat person. Friday (2/25) was my bd, and my cat cuddled with me-she is usually too independent to cuddle, so I was surprised. Nothing wrong with dogs, but when a cat accepts a person, you know they are okay.
Such a sweet story to arise out of something so sad. And I adore cats and love knowing that another person has joined the ranks of us cat lovers.
