If you browse my website, you’ll find that these cover place holders are all over the place. Between all the Ellora’s Cave books, several Loose Id books, and now the Samhain Publishing books, along with new books being written, there are many, many Cover Coming Soon images. More than 18…
I was not planning to have all these books returned to me in such a short amount of time (though to be fair, the Loose Id books are because I opted to not renew the contracts). However, there are more books now NOT available with my name on them than there are available with.
I ask for your patience as I write new books, revise these older titles, and work on coming up with a plan for it all. I had a plan at the beginning of the year. With Samhain closing it’s doors, that plan went out the window as most of my plans do.
The additional books that will be re-released as soon as I can fit them all in and get them re-covered are:
Pink Buttercream Frosting
Sweet Caroline (Blue Jeans and Hard Hats)
Cracklin’ Rosie (Blue Jeans and Hard Hats)
Twisted Up
Malachi’s Word (The Bar Next Door)
Eli’s Promise (The Bar Next Door)
Arctic Shift (Denali Heat)
Abe’s Law (The Bar Next Door) has been started.
Denali Heat #2, #3 have been started as well.
Forever In Blue Jeans (Blue Jeans and Hard Hats) has been written and finished. It was self-published, but I removed it to wait for Sweet Caroline and Cracklin’ Rosie to come available from Samhain (sooner than planned, apparently).
Things are in the works and I’ll keep you updated when titles will be re-published.
If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me.

So, I just had a new release (and yes I did sneak that buy button in there). It’s getting some great reviews and I’ve received some interesting, supportive, and bordering on obsessive emails and messages regarding the series. I love that people enjoy it, especially since I’m so far out of my element with what’s contained in the rest of this post.
The following image is one of my whiteboards. It has arrows and colors and a very, very, very loose idea of how I’ll be connecting several shifter series… Read this one as ‘Lissa’s brain on coffee’

It’s not pretty, but I do understand it… I see the overall picture…
This is a visual idea of what my brain looks like with the details and even with some of the overall idea of what I’m attempting to do…

Notice the difference? My mind is a scrambled mess of interwoven details and ideas and thoughts and “OMFG WTF am I doing?” Read this one as ‘Lissa’s brain on coffee but obviously laced with something because there’s no freakin’ clarity’
I know you want the next book. Some book. Any book that has to do with the shifters… Many want more Gus and Bex. Many still want the rest of Denali Heat. Some now also want the wolves that I’ve introduced. So on, and so forth. I get it. I really do.
Denali Heat books (This is indicated on the whiteboard in the upper left corner that got cut off)… Those are different. The first one is still at Samhain Publishing and I can’t have it back, yet. It will need to be revised and added to in order to incorporate it into the huge, jumbled mess I’ve shown you above. I can work on that before I get the rights back and get back to working on the next book in the series, but it won’t be available to anyone until I get the rights back to Arctic Shift.
Just bear with me as I try to figure out how to do what it want to do…
Just bear with me as I try to untangle my brain.
In the process, I’m also working on the new contemporaries I promised earlier in the year. My ‘Fuck You if you don’t like what I want to write’ books.
Lots in store, y’all…

This news was announced this afternoon and it has come as a shock and a heartbreaker for many, if not all of Samhain Publishing’s authors, editors, cover artists, and readers. It’s a devastating feeling. Though I haven’t published with them in a couple of years, as fate would have it, I had a couple of titles planned for submission for them this year. One of those is Abe’s Law, Book 3 in my Bar Next Door series. With Samhain closing, I will not be able to submit the book to them and will have to either find another publisher for it or publish it myself. I will keep you informed as to what will happen with the series once the rights have come back to me. I will let you know what I will do with all my Samhain titles when I receive the rights. I don’t know when this will be and at this point, they do not either.
I have enjoyed being a Samhain author. I have worked with some incredible people and they helped me become the author I am. I couldn’t have done without them and I will always remember the feeling of having received that first acceptance letter from them for Pink Buttercream Frosting.
The publishing market has changed and will continue changing and though Samhain changed as best it could with the
market, it wasn’t enough. It was stated in their email that they did not wish to go down the road of not paying authors in order to keep the company going because it wouldn’t be fair to anyone. There are already publishers who have taken the delay royalties to simply not paying royalties and I commend Samhain for not following that example. They have always tried to keep up to date with things and it’s just proved too difficult in the changing climate. There’s no telling what the future will hold for any of us before publishing levels out and we all regain our balance.
Thank you Crissy, Marty, Tera, Bethany, Holly, Amy, Jacob, Amanda, and those I know I’m forgetting without meaning to… Thank you for an awesome ride. I wish us all the very best of everything in the future.
