Hey there and Happy Friday!
If I’m your first stop welcome or if I’m your next on the blog hunt I hope you’re having fun. There’s a fantastic prize up for grabs for the Blog Hunt, a Kindle Fire, and I’m offering up my BLUE JEANS AND HARD HATS series here on my blog.
My BLUE JEANS AND HARD HATS series features hard bodied handy-men and sassy women in need of some DIY help.
Another feature of the Blue Jeans books is BDSM. Something that’s been in the news a lot lately due to 50 Shades of Grey. While I’m not going to compare my books to 50 Shades, I am going to say that when I write about BDSM I write from experience.
I recently wrote a blog leading up to the BDSMapalooza the Smutketeers held expressing what BDSM is to me. If you’re interested you can check it out here. If you’re still playing with the Blog Hunt here’s a little snippet that sums up my thoughts.
BDSM has opened my eyes in a way nothing else I’ve ever encountered has. I am profoundly grateful I happened up on the lifestyle years ago. And yes, the sexual benefits are…incredible. But it’s not all or even mostly about sex. Not for me at least. There’s more, much more below the surface.
To be entered to win an eCopy of the entire BLUE JEANS AND HARD HATS series tell me what you think of BDSM or the hype around 50 Shades of Grey. Have you read it? Do you plan on it? I’ll pick a winner at random and post it here on my blog on Monday (May 28). The winner will have until Thursday (May 31) at Noon MST to contact my PA.
Here’s my question for Friday Fireworks: There is something about Jenn’s book that is unlike any other romance novel out there. What is it? (Check out the name of her website.)
Rules:
10 Authors. 10 Questions. 10 Easy Answers.

I haven’t read 50 Shades of Grey yet. I am not sure that I will. I have many other authors on my TBR that I anxious to read first. We will see. As for BDSM, I am all for it. I am still learning more about it, but like what I have learned so far.

I will not be reading 50 Shades of Fanfic…although I read quite a few hilarious reviews of it and some of the sentences taken out of it were most edit worthy. 🙂
I will probably not read 50 shades of grey. I have an author/editor friend that isn’t fond of it. Plus I have read a few blogs from others who have showed many grammatical and structural errors. I don’t think I could read the story without getting frustrated. lol
As for BDSM…I always like trying different things. I’ll try anything once–sometimes twice. *grins*
I love to read BDSM with all types of settings, contemporary, fantasy, m/m, etc. I haven’t read 50 Shades, yet; I might, eventually. The good thing about the hype, IMO, it will expose other BDSM authors to the “newcomers!”

50 Shades was recommended to me by a dear friend before all the hype. It was added to my out of control tbr list. I am not sure that I can read it now because of all the hype. I will keep it on my list but I probably won’t get to it anytime soon. I have to say that I work in a store and we can’t seem to keep it on the shelves and that it has generated alot of interest in the BDSM genre which can’t be anything but good for my favorite BDSM authors.
The book didn’t do much for me. Shrug. There’s lots of other books on my list, including a certain stock car book by Miss Lissa. 🙂 Actually, I already read it and loved it and will read it again.
I love all types of BDSM. I am not interested in 50 shades of Grey. I am already past that I think. 🙂
I have no desire to read 50 Shades. There was too much hype and now I am sick of hearing about the look. I am like BDSM books and I recently have caught my husband reading it on my kindle when he thinks I don’t notice. It is an added plus for me. He can get creative without me dropping hints he never catches.
I enjoy reading about BDSM but have never practiced it. I would prefer to be the Dom rather than the Sub, but the DH would never go for it.
The 50 Shades of Gray books are on my TBR list.

I haven’t read Fifty Shades of Grey yet but I do plan to. I’m curious about BDSM and especially how it plays in a romance. If it’s an emotional and tense stories I’ll likely enjoy it.
I haven’t read “Fifty Shades of Grey” yet but will get around to it one of these days. I think it has brought this facet of literature to the attention of the mass majority but am disappointed in the juvenile reactions to the concept of BDSM. I have been reading the genre for years and feel that there are plenty of better examples than this one trilogy.
I am not in a hurry to read 50 Shades of Grey, I have read some reviews and they seem to be mixed, some liked it some didn’t. I will read it eventually I am sure.
I haven’t read any of the 50 Shades Trilogy. I’ve heard good and bad about it. I’m a little on the slow side to check out things are hyped up. So by the time I check out the series, they’ll be something new for everyone to go ohhhh and ahhhh about.
I have read a lot of books about BDSM, and it makes me a little curious about D/s relationships. I would like to learn more about it.
Hi, Lissa, I have not read 50 Shades and have no plans to–from what I’ve heard/read about the books, they don’t sound like something I’d particularly enjoy, and I have heard very mixed reviews about the quality of the writing (which I know I would NOT enjoy).
I HAVE read BDSM before, from “lite” to more serious stories, and have read quite a few very talented authors stories and have enjoyed most of them. I haven’t tried it in real life, but can understand the appeal of relinquishing control in the bedroom to someone you completely trust with yourself and your pleasure.
Thanks for the fun this weekend!
I haven’t read it, but might in the future. It seems popular because people want to see what the hype’s all about.
I like BDSM books. Well, i should say, i dont like the humiliation and the pain. Thats a turn off, usually, its enough for me to put the book down and never try the author again. I like where the characters get tied up, toys and sometimes multiple partners are involved. I also love the deep connect and the trust between the hero(s) and heroine(s). I havent tried 50 Shades of Gray yet, but i plan too! Ive heard a ton of good and im intrigued. Thanks for the awesome giveaway! Ive especially been drooling over your series for awhile now! Sounds awesome! Thanks for the chance to win!

I’ve probably missed the drawing but I wanted to weigh in. I haven’t read 50 Shades yet but it’s on my wish list. I have one friend who is all tingly and excited like it’s something new. I told her to call me. I am going to share some of the really great BDSM with her. I am just glad it’s getting people to read and getting them to try adult content. I just hope that they keep on reading once the tingle factor wears off! jepebATverizonDOTnet
