Hey y’all! It’s been a long time since I’ve participated in a blog hop, but this one…yeah. I mean, c’mon now, the Grand Prize is a Kitchen-Aid Stand Mixer!
Do you have one? Have you ever used one? I’m on my 3rd one. The reason being is that I’ve upgraded each time and given my previous ones to up and coming bakers. I bought my first one close to 15 years ago when I took cake decorating classes. I fell in love the first time I used it and I can’t seem to live without one now. Between that and my coffee makers… I’d be hard pressed to choose. Seriously. Might have to pry both out of my cold, dead arms.
But, since that hopefully is not something I’ll have to worry about, we’ll stick with how much I love mine and how lucky someone is going to be to win the one being offered as the Grand Prize of the Mix Up Some Romance Blog Hop. (The mixer is only available to be shipped to a winner in the USA. If by chance the winner is International, the Grand Prize would be a $100 Amazon gift card).
And since it’s a mixer, I thought I’d share a recipe or two that I’ve made in mine. I have made everything from sausage balls and meatloaf mix to breads and cinnamon rolls to cakes and cookies to frostings.
Given the time of year and some of us have started planning our holiday baking (I know, that word holiday is evil still… I’ll only say it those two times I promise), the recipe I’ll share with you is one that is featured in the back of my book, Stick Shift. The hero in it was taught by his mother to make cookies and his favorite which happen to also be the heroine’s favorite are Molasses Cookies…
Cam’s Molasses Cookies
Ingredients:
1-1/2 cups unsalted butter, softened
2 cups sugar
2 large eggs
1/2 cup molasses
4-1/2 cups all-purpose flour
4 teaspoons ground ginger
2 teaspoons baking soda
1-1/2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
1 teaspoon ground cloves
1/4 teaspoon salt
3/4 cup coarse decorating sugar
Directions:
Preheat oven to 350°.
In a large bowl, cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in eggs and molasses.
Combine the flour, ginger, baking soda, cinnamon, cloves and salt; gradually add to creamed mixture and mix well. Shape into 2-inch balls (ice cream/cookie scoops work well here) and roll in coarse sugar. Place 2-1/2-inches apart on ungreased baking sheets (I usually use parchment paper or non-stick aluminum foil). Bake 13-15 minutes or until tops are cracked. Remove to wire racks to cool.
Yield: 2 dozen.
These are delicious cookies and they’re soft and chewy. And with a cup of coffee, they’re just YUM!
Now, I’ve told you about the grand prize for the hop, so you’ll need to enter the Rafflecopter for that, For my blog prize, I’ll be giving a $25 gift card to the e-tailer of your choice along with one digital copy of any of my available books. Falling in love at two hundred miles an hour…
Cam Carter is young, hot, and cocky as hell. He’s loved by some, respected by few, and hated by more. He’ll do anything to win the next race, the championship, or the heart of the girl.
Lily is unlike any other challenge Cam has faced. Quiet, full-figured, and several years older, she’s trying everything she can to resist the pull of this bad boy of racing.
Can they find a way to cross the finish line and take the checkered flag together? Or will obstacles, both inside and out, push against them until they crash and burn?
I make a homemade mostacholi recipe pasta with a sweet and sour tomato sauce, josephhawkshaw@yahoo.com
Oh, goodness, there are so many! I get upset without dark chocolate around, so I’ll pick that.
The best thing I ever tasted was some sea scallops from a seafood restaurant. Fabulous. They melted in my mouth they were so good. I’ve never had any scallops that good since.

This is a difficult one for me because I love all kinds of foods. I’m going to say my meatball taco ring they are to die for and you can do so much with it. I even sometimes change it from a ring to other desires like a horseshoe depending on my theme. Thanks for sharing.

I have a Pampered Chef cookbook that has the rings in it…
Best food I’ve ever tasted is cheesecake.

Wow. That changes just about every day. Right now, my Parmesan potatoes is sounding awfully good.
Mix 1 part flour, 2 parts parmesan cheese, some italian herbs to taste.
Coat potato wedges with the cheese/flour mix,
Put them into a glass baking dish (metal just doesn’t give the same great flavor), and add pats of very cold to frozen butter over the top.
Bake at 350F for about 35-45 minutes, until potatoes are soft.
Yum!

Oh yay! Thank YOU! for sharing a recipe!
I love to cook and bake….and I make molasses cookies that are pretty much the same recipe…a family favorite for sure. Having the Kitchen Aid mixer sure makes mixing so much nicer! Mine is not as nice as the one in the giveaway. I make homemade egg noodles that are wonderful, the work is rolling them out thin.
Best food….I love food, so that is hard but I had a foodgasm last year eating a bite of Olive Garden’s Pumpkin Cheesecake! My sister and I order it before I food and each take a few bites! So much better than after you eat.
Thank you for being part of the blog hop!

I would say Strawberry Shortcake!!! That is so good!!!!
I love pizza with the works, so I’ll have to say that. I love the savory flavors of all the meats and vegetables working together…it’s like a party in my mouth!
They sound yummy! The best food that I have ever eaten would probably have to be a grass-fed homemade cheeseburger. It was seasoned perfectly and delicious!
Thank you for the wonderful giveaway and hop!

You ask such a difficult question . . . I love exploring and trying new food but the best thing I think I ever tasted I sadly can’t find anymore. It was a 7 layer Chocolate Whiskey Cake from a local restaurant. They too kit off the menu and I never went back 🙁
Thanks for sharing the cookies, I may have to try those this year!

It would have to be my late uncle’s homemade sauce and meatballs. No one could make it like he did.

Loved the recipe. My grandma made the best molasses cookies when I was a kid. This has been a great hop. My favorite recipe is still my great-grandmothers Christmas sugar cookies.
