It’s been a long time coming! And I am so proud of how this team has grown and changed and developed and that our coach, Mike Norvell has been able to recruit and pull from the transfer portal to craft and create a team that works after so many years of teams not working, only parts of them working.
We had a big, marquee game against LSU last night and we fucking won! (sure, they almost won because our defensive secondary fell apart and left everything wide open and there was that fumble at that pitch play at the goal line, but the fact of the matter is, we blocked an extra point and we won the freakin’, fuckin’ game!)

God, it’s been a long time since I’ve been able to say that…
Of course, we’ll lose games and I get that, but damn it feels to win won, to have fought hard, and win.
College football is back, baby!

Well, my record hasn’t been all that great this bowl season. If I continue this way, well…laughs
Day 4 (December 21) – San Diego County Credit Union Poinsettia Bowl, BYU vs Wyoming (This was a Win! The next 3 were not!))
Day 5 (December 22) – Famous Idaho Potato Bowl, Idaho vs Colorado State
Day 6 (December 23) – Popeyes Bahamas Bowl, Old Dominion vs Eastern Michigan
Lockhead Martin Armed Forces Bowl, Louisiana Tech vs Navy
Dollar General Bowl, Troy vs Ohio (This was another win!! Yay!)
Day 7 (December 24) – Hawai’i Bowl, Hawai’i vs Middle Tennessee (And… this was not.)
Maybe this losing thing will end soon…

Yes, y’all that’s what time of year it is!
I do write and work on things on the weekends, but I primarily watch football. It starts for me on Thursday nights. There’s Friday night college football too. All day Saturday starting at 9am with GameDay on ESPN, Sunday starting at 10am with the NFL, and Monday nights. That’s A LOT of football. And that makes for a happy Lissa.
It’s a lot of time in front of the television, too. On my ass. Though I do get up and walk in place (hey, it counts) every now and then. And walk to the kitchen…laughs. But, it’s also time with my son. We watch football together. We talk about all kinds of things during the games and between them. It’s where his interest is…sports. So, it’s something we can share and connect with. That’s important to me. It has always been important to me. He and his father have baseball and softball. He and his sister have video games. He and I have football and racing and golf. It’s all about the connection, the conversation, the time spent making memories…
So, while I type words into the computer from the pages and pages of handwritten ones, I’ll be watching football.
We all know I have college teams I follow and college coaches I can’t stand. But I don’t follow NFL teams. I follow players who I paid attention to in college. I like seeing them progress and it allows me to watch all sorts of teams and games. It’s the fantasy way to do it, only I don’t play fantasy football. I simply watch and I watch for the love of the game.
Y’all have a great Sunday!

I know Monday is usually Music Monday, but today is a special Monday. Tonight is the BSC National Championship for college football. My Florida State Seminoles and the Auburn Tigers!
It’s the last game of the 2013-14 college football season. It’s a big night in my house and depending on how the game ends tonight, I’ll either be around tomorrow or I’ll be MIA for a few days as I get over it and move on.
For now though, there’s hope and anticipation and I’m really not good for much right now…lol
If you don’t follow college football, I’m sorry. If you do and you’re not an FSU or Auburn fan, for tonight, I’m sorry. If you don’t care about tonight’s game, I’m sorry. If, however, you do follow college football, FSU, Auburn, etc… Then I wish you the best of luck tonight and next season.
I’ve got my FSU coffee cup, my shirt on, my hat and socks, my FSU flag is hanging outside as it has all season. I’ve got Seminole stew in the crock-pot, the Seminole serving dishes at the ready. It’s time for one last shot at glory season…
