It’s been a long time coming! And I am so proud of how this team has grown and changed and developed and that our coach, Mike Norvell has been able to recruit and pull from the transfer portal to craft and create a team that works after so many years of teams not working, only parts of them working.
We had a big, marquee game against LSU last night and we fucking won! (sure, they almost won because our defensive secondary fell apart and left everything wide open and there was that fumble at that pitch play at the goal line, but the fact of the matter is, we blocked an extra point and we won the freakin’, fuckin’ game!)

God, it’s been a long time since I’ve been able to say that…
Of course, we’ll lose games and I get that, but damn it feels to win won, to have fought hard, and win.
College football is back, baby!

We weren’t supposed to get this far in the tournament. Most of us, based on the play at the end of the regular season and the way we were beat in the first round of the ACC tournament, we didn’t think we’d be anywhere near the 64 in the big show, but HOLY SHIT! We made it through the first round, the second, into the Sweet Sixteen to beat Gonzaga in dominating fashion and we’re on to the Elite Eight now! I’m so proud of my Seminoles! So damn proud of them. These kids are playing their heart out and seem to be having fun!
They play again on Saturday night around 8:50pm against Michigan. You better believe I’ll be decked out in my Nole gear and pulling for them!

And so, yes, the Florida State Seminoles won the final BCS National Championship last night in Pasadena, California, over the Auburn Tigers. It was touch and go for the Seminoles with many hold your breath moments and several other ‘you’ve gotta catch that ball, son’ hollers at the television. I’m a Southern girl and I take my college football seriously. When people say it’s a religion here in the South, they aren’t joking. It’s a way of life, you bleed team colors, and fly the flags proudly from August to the first week of January.

Now, I don’t know what’s going to happen next year with the new play-off system they’ve got going. Likely a lot of cursing from me and others like me, but that’s the way it goes.
I’m proud of my team, the young ones and the veterans. I’m proud of our coach and the coaching staff he has surrounding him. Jimbo Fisher and his family fight a blood disease in their youngest son every day and for him to be able to do this, to inspire the dedication of the guys on that team… Hats off to him.
Now, about release dates… I know most of you are waiting on that information…
I know I’d said The Sticky Cowgirl would be out this month, however, my Ellora’s Cave editor has been working on getting a release date for Slide Down On Me. There was hope that it would be around mid-January, but due to some editing issues and the holidays, it didn’t get turned in in time. It could be late to end of January or it could be early February, now. Either way, I don’t want to put these two releases that close together. So, what we’re doing is waiting to hear from my editor about the EC release date before I give a more final date for release on The Sticky Cowgirl. I have a lot of releases planned for this year, the majority of them self-published. Please be patient as I work out the kinks of it all.
And please, if you’ve read The Cupcake Cowboy or Love and Tattoos, leave a review at whatever e-tailer you purchased from. The Cupcake Cowboy could sure use your help 🙂
But you have several upcoming books to look forward to and a couple of new series ideas that are brewing in my head…

I know Monday is usually Music Monday, but today is a special Monday. Tonight is the BSC National Championship for college football. My Florida State Seminoles and the Auburn Tigers!
It’s the last game of the 2013-14 college football season. It’s a big night in my house and depending on how the game ends tonight, I’ll either be around tomorrow or I’ll be MIA for a few days as I get over it and move on.
For now though, there’s hope and anticipation and I’m really not good for much right now…lol
If you don’t follow college football, I’m sorry. If you do and you’re not an FSU or Auburn fan, for tonight, I’m sorry. If you don’t care about tonight’s game, I’m sorry. If, however, you do follow college football, FSU, Auburn, etc… Then I wish you the best of luck tonight and next season.
I’ve got my FSU coffee cup, my shirt on, my hat and socks, my FSU flag is hanging outside as it has all season. I’ve got Seminole stew in the crock-pot, the Seminole serving dishes at the ready. It’s time for one last shot at glory season…

See, for so long y’all didn’t think you’d ever get any new news out of me. Well, and you’re not. Yet. But soon… Maybe even by Friday I’ll have something more I can say. But if not, soon.
Until I can though, just be assured that I am writing and working my little, okay well, not so little, behind off for you, my darlin’ readers.
Oh, and Oh. My. God. I have found a store I think I am going to love as much as I love Trader Joe’s. I know, you’re shocked, right? I won’t be shopping there often because holy moly it’s expensive, but the organic foods, the natural foods (both of these would be why it’s so much more expensive), the fun stuff like you can make your own peanut butter right there in the store stuff… Lissa will be going there at least a couple times a month. You know, when I need something special like grains in bulk (whole wheat pastry flour) or specialty dairy (organic flavored half and half or REAL butter) or the natural sweetener (dried cane sugar) I’ve been searching all over town for that I can bake with that won’t send my husband’s blood sugar through the roof kind of special stuff…
The store is called Earth Fare. It’s like a smaller Whole Foods.
I do feel a contest coming on soon, too, y’all… I’m thinking about it and when I’ve got down what kind we’re going to do, I’ll let you in on it.
And there was something else, some other thing… Really important too… Ummm… Oh yeah, I remember now! It’s that time of year…

Florida State Seminoles Football. Game Day 9/3/2011, 3:30pm. Oh yeah! I’m gonna be fixing some game day munchies Saturday morning… probably to include some boiled peanuts!
What game day snacks do you like, need, crave, will kill to have?
