Music/Movie Monday – I Will Survive

From the movie, The Replacements… With football season officially over for 2015/2016, it’s time for me to settle in for the long wait until it starts up again. I’ll be keeping myself entertained and occupied with NASCAR and golf.

I. Will. Survive.

Congratulations to the Denver Broncos and to Peyton Manning. If Super Bowl 50 was his final game, what a hell of a way to go out! He’s had an incredible career, one of the greatest to ever play and understand the dynamics of the game.

Kindle Select for Stick Shift

StickShift200x300If you’ve paid any attention to the re-release of Stick Shift this week, you may have noticed it’s not on Barnes and Noble or All Romance eBooks or Smashwords. There’s a reason for that and the title of this post makes that clear.

I’ve enrolled Stick Shift in Amazon Kindle Select. It’s exclusive to Amazon for 3 months. It’s a test, you see. For me. To try something new. To see how things work with Kindle Select. To utilize some of the deals and special things they have in place for authors who give them exclusivity. To see if it would be beneficial for another book down the line. To see how Kindle Unlimited affects things.

I’m not as savvy as some of the more successful self-publishing authors. I don’t know all the algorithms. I don’t know all the tips and tricks. I don’t know all the short cuts or how to play the system to make it work better for me and my books. I don’t have Amazon reps. I can only go off what I see, hear, observe, and by the answers to the questions I ask when I think someone might be willing to share information.

And it’s possible that I’m doing everything wrong, but that’s how we learn most of the time, or at least, that how’s I learn most of the time.

So, over the next couple of months, I’ll be trying these different things out while working on finishing up the second Bad Boys of Racing book and The Sticky Cowgirl.

Y’all have a great weekend. I’ll be writing and watching football.

Oh and if you have read Stick Shift and liked it, please consider leaving a review.

Music Monday – The Boys Of Fall

Over on the sidebar, there’s a College Football countdown widget. If any of y’all know me, y’all know I love me some college football. I like the NFL too (don’t have a fave team, just certain players I follow), but my heart and soul with football is college ball.

Now, I’m not a huge Kenny Chesney fan, but he had a song, The Boys of Fall that hits me in the gut every time. For most people, you’re still looking at Summer. You’re counting down to when your kids go back to school, but at the same time you’re seeing Summer. Me, I’m itching for Fall. Cool weather, and football.

There are so many sports romances out there too. Hockey, baseball, racing, wrestling, and football. I don’t read many of them myself, but I do love that they’re there for you to read. I love that sports are not just for men anymore, that the female fan base is growing by leaps and bounds.

So, if you’re looking forward to Fall and looking forward to football, there’s a hot new contemporary romance from Selena Blake, Ask For It.

Trevor Wyatt has lusted for journalist JJ Fairchild since before he retired from the NFL. Now she’s back in his life and he’s not going to miss the opportunity to show her just how good they could be together.

Words may be JJ’s tool of trade, but when it comes to the bedroom, words escape her. Trevor’s an excellent teacher and before she knows it, she’s asking for what she wants.

But when outside forces threaten to expose dark secrets from Trevor’s past, can he overcome his suspicions and trust the woman in his bed?
