Life is about to get sticky for by the book businessman, Samuel Stevenson.

Raised in Texan society, groomed to take over his stepfather’s company, and the hope of every debutante mama this side of Dallas, he wasn’t supposed to fall in love with a thorn in the company’s side: Samantha Dawson, owner of The Sticky Cowgirl.

But, fall in love he did.

Now, his job is in jeopardy, his mother is beside herself, and Samantha won’t budge an inch. Will Samuel lose everything, or will the boot wearing, sassy mouthed rancher’s daughter show him exactly what he’s always wanted? (more…)

Cover Reveal – The Sticky Cowgirl

image

I don’t have the blurb yet. I think I’m on draft 394… But hopefully soon.

In case you haven’t noticed, both covers (The Cupcake Cowboy, too) so far have been changed. They’re brighter and a little more fun than the original ones. Which, that wasn’t the artist’s fault. No, it’s all on me. My vision of what I wanted and the vision of what readers would buy was totally different. So, they had to undergo a makeover and I really like them. The third book in the series, The Tattooed Barista, will have a fun and playful and sexy feel to the cover. So, be on the lookout for that one soon.

The Sticky Cowgirl will go up for pre-sale in the next week or two on Amzon and be released in October.

And, to tease you a bit, the new covers aren’t the only things getting makeovers… 😉

An FSU Win and Release Date News

And so, yes, the Florida State Seminoles won the final BCS National Championship last night in Pasadena, California, over the Auburn Tigers. It was touch and go for the Seminoles with many hold your breath moments and several other ‘you’ve gotta catch that ball, son’ hollers at the television. I’m a Southern girl and I take my college football seriously. When people say it’s a religion here in the South, they aren’t joking. It’s a way of life, you bleed team colors, and fly the flags proudly from August to the first week of January.

FSU

Now, I don’t know what’s going to happen next year with the new play-off system they’ve got going. Likely a lot of cursing from me and others like me, but that’s the way it goes.

I’m proud of my team, the young ones and the veterans. I’m proud of our coach and the coaching staff he has surrounding him. Jimbo Fisher and his family fight a blood disease in their youngest son every day and for him to be able to do this, to inspire the dedication of the guys on that team… Hats off to him.

slidedownonme_msrNow, about release dates… I know most of you are waiting on that information…

I know I’d said The Sticky Cowgirl would be out this month, however, my Ellora’s Cave editor has been working on getting a release date for Slide Down On Me. There was hope that it would be around mid-January, but due to some editing issues and the holidays, it didn’t get turned in in time. It could be late to end of January or it could be early February, now. Either way, I don’t want to put these two releases that close together. So, what we’re doing is waiting to hear from my editor about the EC release date before I give a more final date for release on The Sticky Cowgirl. I have a lot of releases planned for this year, the majority of them self-published. Please be patient as I work out the kinks of it all. StickyCowgirl133x200

And please, if you’ve read The Cupcake Cowboy or Love and Tattoos, leave a review at whatever e-tailer you purchased from. The Cupcake Cowboy could sure use your help 🙂

But you have several upcoming books to look forward to and a couple of new series ideas that are brewing in my head…

New Release – The Cupcake Cowboy

CupcakeCowboy200x300IT’S HERE and I’m so excited!

I had a wonderful time when I was in San Antonio earlier this year and though I had the idea for the story long before my visit, being there was more than enough to really get me all kinds of giddy to work more on this series.

There are going to be four books coming out over the next 6-7 months having to do with Lone Star Sweets. Each one will deal with it’s own issues and heros and heroines, but they will also build on one another and the characters will intertwine. I hope you’ll like The Cupcake Cowboy. However, whether you do or not, I would appreciate any reviews you’d like to leave on bookseller sites.

Blurb:

Dear Readers,

My name is Jackson and I am The Cupcake Cowboy. I own and operate a cupcake truck in downtown San Antonio, Texas.

Born and raised on a cattle ranch a few miles outside San Antonio, I can rope, tie, ride, drive, and wrangle with the best of ‘em. It’s what my father does and what his father did before him. It’s what I was supposed to do too, only… I didn’t want it.

One thing you should know up front, is that I’m more stubborn than a mule and when I get something in my head, I don’t let go until I get it done.

You see, when I realized my little sister had a way off the ranch by way of making people happy with our grandma’s sticky buns, well, I figured I could learn a thing or two about food myself. I liked eating and I knew my way around cooking meals so, how hard could baking be?

I soon found out.

I wasn’t cut out for sticky buns. In fact, I was a downright disaster at it. Sam suggested I go to culinary school, see what I might be good at. Turns out it was cakes and cupcakes.

Culinary school is also where I met Cass. She taught a few of my pastry classes and honestly, I wouldn’t have cared what she taught so long as I got to be around her. I was head over heels the second she smiled. Her enthusiasm was a sight to behold and it drew me in like a moth to a flame.

You’ll like her. Cass is a good woman, smart as a whip, knows what she’s talking about, and I didn’t want to listen. Remember? More stubborn than a mule… She deserves a second chance, in more ways than one.

That’s where this book begins. So, take a load off and grab a cool drink. You’re gonna need it.

Jackson
