So, let’s talk about Masked. And Pink Buttercream Frosting. And what the two have in common.
A while back, I wrote a book called Pink Buttercream Frosting. This was Bailey and Aidn’s book. It was lite BDSM. It had a secondary character in it by the name of Thor who wielded a mean flogger in a club called Abyss.
Thor had a secret thing for Bailey, but Thor also had an even deeper secret, one no one knew about, one I didn’t allude to at all.
Enter the little story, Masked.
I had originally written it as a free read. It has been re-worked into a slightly longer version of it’s original self. Still, it’s only 5000 words. Let me say that again. It. Is. Only. 5000. Words. It is very short. But it is very HOT. It is male/male spanking. It is a unique telling of Thor’s story. It is the first of 3 shorts, all of which will feature Thor and his new lover.
I am going to self-publish Masked. It will be available on Amazon and Barnes and Noble. I have spent the week reading and formatting and learning content and adding content and studying how to do it right. I’ll be uploading it this weekend.
Now, I guess you’re wondering if you need to read Pink Buttercream Frosting first, huh? Well, no, but it might help. If you’ve already read it, you might want to give it another look through. I know one of my betas read Masked first then went and bought Pink Buttercream Frosting because she just had to know some things… And she was glad she did.
Either way, I hope you’re looking forward to Masked. I am. I love this little story…
Once upon a time, there was a little bird named Samantha.
Now, Samantha was considered a wonderful and dear friend to Lissa and she knew how much Lissa liked to read male/male erotic romance.
Samantha, such a delightful friend suggested to Lissa that she should consider writing stories in this genre she loves so much. One thing, dear readers that you must understand about Samantha is the simple fact that she writes stories in this genre as well as the male/male/female genre and so coming from such an esteemed and successful writer, Lissa took Samantha’s suggestion to heart.
Over the course of a couple of months, some serious thought went into this idea. Lissa had considered writing male/male before, had even written a very short male/male free read, but had primarily focused on male/female contemporary. But Samantha had put a bug in Lissa’s ear to write male/male, to try her hand at it and Lissa couldn’t stop thinking about it, couldn’t stop wanting to try and so she took her very short free read out of the storage closet, added a few words, polished it up, sent it off to a few friends to read, including Samantha (whom Lissa hasn’t heard back from yet…) Thoughts so far though on Lissa’s effort are good and positive.
Armed with a little confidence and a lot of nerves, Lissa is aiming to self-publish this little collection of male/male spanking stories, 5K each.
The End.
Grins…
I even have a cover, created by the wonderful Valerie Tibbs. I am working on the second 5K story and will then move on to the third one. I’ll keep y’all informed as to a release for it.
Now, during Snippet Saturday I promised new cover art and I am going to hold to that promise. I received it late Saturday afternoon and thought it might be a really good way to start off the week.
This is also the week when those of us here in the USA celebrate Thanksgiving and so I will be posting on Thursday the writerly/authorly things I am most thankful for.
For today, I am very very thankful for beautiful cover art from the Loose Id cover art department and artist Valerie Tibbs. So, without further ado…
This book should be available December 7th!
Now, the blurb is unofficial because it hasn’t gone through the final editing stage at Loose Id, but, it’s close enough…
Blurb:
Holiday ‘Holli’ James looks forward the week between Christmas and New Year’s. This is her one chance to get away from the hustle and bustle of the decorating business she owns and the plan this year is a trip to New York City to see the sights and the lights.
However, the original plan didn’t include a side trip to a small town jail in the middle of Pennsylvania. Nor did the plan include ‘Officer Hunky’. Talk about a sight worth seeing.
A single police officer, Michael is working the Christmas holidays again. With no local family and no interest in the pity invitations from his married friends to Christmas dinner, he’s content to work and earn extra cash. Besides, this year looks to be as uneventful as ever. Until, he pulls Holli over for speeding, only to discover she’s wanted on charges of fraud.
Sexual tension spikes as Michael begins to investigate and finds things aren’t adding up to Holli being who the computers say she is. While they await answers, Michael is granted permission to remove Holli from the jail and place her under house arrest.
Only, his idea of house arrest is much more personal than the law ever intended.
End Blurb…
I hope y’all will enjoy this story. It’s fun and rompy and yeah, contains a some naughty sex, the use of handcuffs, some light spanking, and a cop that can cook…
Food is Rosie’s life, and life is good. She loves it, makes it, serves it in her diner, writes about it in her blog, and she’s happy. At least until a storm puts a rather large tree limb through her roof, and a sex-in-a-tool-belt roofer on top of her cabin.
But that’s not where she wants him. No, she wants him behind her with a strip of leather in his hand. That’s what makes her edgy—vulnerability is not her style. Except the more prickly she gets with him, the more he turns on the charm.
Decker arrives in Blue Ridge, Georgia, with nothing on his mind but a job and some new scenery. His legendary patience is tested from the first moment he meets sharp-tongued Rosie. She’s got hips that sway, non-stop curves and a mouth that needs to be filled with things that are much sweeter than vinegar.
A few singe-worthy kisses, and Decker uncovers passions that will likely earn her every red stripe she’s begging for. And Rosie discovers Decker’s got a hunger burning deep inside to give her anything and everything she needs. Maybe even…forever.
Warning: Between the sheets of this book you’ll find a twist on a decadent southern dessert, sweet rose wine, picnic table sexiness, truck sex, a man who knows how to give a spanking and a woman who knows how to bend over a hot yummy lap.
Mmm. Mmm. Mmm!
I hope y’all enjoy this book. It’s a little longer than Sweet Caroline. It’s a little darker, as some have put it. There’s a little bit of power play going on, but as in all my books, it’s subtle. I like subtle.
Rosie is feisty. Decker is hot. They are firecrackers together.
Did y’all know Neil Diamond is a nominee for the Rock ‘N Roll Hall of Fame? I think that’s awesome. I grew up listening to him among others and honestly, whodathunk that his songs would inspire the names of a few kinky erotic romance books?
Cracklin’ Rosie, as most of my books are, is very personal to me. There are things in it that I have taken from my life, my childhood, my experiences, my desires, some of my loves. It makes my writing a more personal experience and the investment is greater. Some of those things are my spanking fetish, my love of coffee, my love of food, comfort food in particular and hamburgers especially.
If you’ve seen any of my tweets when I’ve talked about Red Robin, y’all know I love a good burger. And it’s a fond memory for me. I don’t have many when it comes to my step-father, but one of the few good ones for me are his hamburgers. I couldn’t tell you what was in them nor can I reveal the nickname we had for them because it would give away my maiden name. Suffice it to say, a little mustard, a little Heinz 57, some cheese and bread and butter pickles and I was in heaven as a kid. It was a ritual to make those at least once a week and to this day, my friends from high school remember those hamburgers.
What does this have to do with Cracklin’ Rosie? Well, Rosie’s favorite food is a hamburger. And as luck would have it, Decker can make a really good one.
Other foods appearing in this book are: Strawberry/Banana pudding, chicken and dumplings, meatloaf and mashed potatoes, cherry cobbler, a fried egg sandwich, potato salad.
It’s not a foodie book, but man oh man, I pulled some of my favorites and added them in.
There’s also the brief appearance of Buck and Caroline. The use of belts.
And a different way of drinking wine. The wine inspiration for this book is sweet Muscadine wine. My favorite is from the Duplin Winery here in North Carolina. I have 4 bottles in my pantry. Red, Blush (Rose), White. I love them. Rosie talks about a winery in Atlanta and that would be Chateau Elan Winery.
Of course, there’s also coffee in the book.
I know it’s sounding a bit like a foodie book, but she IS the owner of a diner. Food is what she does, morning, noon, and night.
Well, until she meets Decker…
For those of you that have purchased it already, thank you. I hope you enjoy it.
As of this writing, here at 6:46am, Cracklin’ Rosie is sitting at #5 on the MBaM Top Ten List.
Tonight at 9pm Eastern (8pm Central), I’ll be doing a chat at Kris Cook’s place. Can I tell y’all how nervous I am? Good, cause, I am nervous, but if any of you have the time or inclination to come by and visit and well, chat, I’d love it!
Thank you all so much for being my readers, my support system. Those that read my books, comment on my rambling blogs, chat with me on Twitter and Facebook, send me emails… None of you will ever know how deeply I appreciate you.
Have a wonderful Wednesday and yes, there will be giveaways in the days to come, interviews, release parties, and a title fight between Buck and Decker for who is hottest! Stay tuned for more details!
