And she’s on sales for $.99! Limited Time ONLY! Then her price goes up, so get her NOW!

Life is about to get sticky for by the book businessman, Samuel Stevenson.
Raised in Texan society, groomed to take over his stepfather’s company, and the hope of every debutante mama this side of Dallas, he wasn’t supposed to fall in love with a thorn in the company’s side: Samantha Dawson, owner of The Sticky Cowgirl.
But, fall in love he did.
Now, his job is in jeopardy, his mother is beside herself, and Samantha won’t budge an inch. Will Samuel lose everything, or will the boot wearing, sassy mouthed rancher’s daughter show him exactly what he’s always wanted? (more…)
by Mlissa | Sep 18, 2014 | Cover Reveal

I don’t have the blurb yet. I think I’m on draft 394… But hopefully soon.
In case you haven’t noticed, both covers (The Cupcake Cowboy, too) so far have been changed. They’re brighter and a little more fun than the original ones. Which, that wasn’t the artist’s fault. No, it’s all on me. My vision of what I wanted and the vision of what readers would buy was totally different. So, they had to undergo a makeover and I really like them. The third book in the series, The Tattooed Barista, will have a fun and playful and sexy feel to the cover. So, be on the lookout for that one soon. (more…)

The Sticky Cowgirl will go up for pre-sale in the next week or two on Amzon and be released in October.
And, to tease you a bit, the new covers aren’t the only things getting makeovers… 😉

by Mlissa | Jan 7, 2014 | Florida State Seminoles, writing
And so, yes, the Florida State Seminoles won the final BCS National Championship last night in Pasadena, California, over the Auburn Tigers. It was touch and go for the Seminoles with many hold your breath moments and several other ‘you’ve gotta catch that ball, son’ hollers at the television. I’m a Southern girl and I take my college football seriously. When people say it’s a religion here in the South, they aren’t joking. It’s a way of life, you bleed team colors, and fly the flags proudly from August to the first week of January.

Now, I don’t know what’s going to happen next year with the new play-off system they’ve got going. Likely a lot of cursing from me and others like me, but that’s the way it goes.
I’m proud of my team, the young ones and the veterans. I’m proud of our coach and the coaching staff he has surrounding him. Jimbo Fisher and his family fight a blood disease in their youngest son every day and for him to be able to do this, to inspire the dedication of the guys on that team… Hats off to him.
Now, about release dates… I know most of you are waiting on that information…
I know I’d said The Sticky Cowgirl would be out this month, however, my Ellora’s Cave editor has been working on getting a release date for Slide Down On Me. There was hope that it would be around mid-January, but due to some editing issues and the holidays, it didn’t get turned in in time. It could be late to end of January or it could be early February, now. Either way, I don’t want to put these two releases that close together. So, what we’re doing is waiting to hear from my editor about the EC release date before I give a more final date for release on The Sticky Cowgirl. I have a lot of releases planned for this year, the majority of them self-published. Please be patient as I work out the kinks of it all.
And please, if you’ve read The Cupcake Cowboy or Love and Tattoos, leave a review at whatever e-tailer you purchased from. The Cupcake Cowboy could sure use your help 🙂
But you have several upcoming books to look forward to and a couple of new series ideas that are brewing in my head…

by Mlissa | Nov 29, 2013 | Holidays, self publishing
…And people are or have been out shopping. Gravitating toward the best sales EVER! The stores open earlier, the crowds are larger, the discounts deeper… And yet, I stay at home. I like a deal just like everyone else, but I’ve worked retails and restaurant and service on holidays, I’ve been away from my family, and I’ve worked the day after holidays… Once you’ve done that, something about flocking to the stores loses some of it’s luster.
I wasn’t always such a bah-humbug about it. I loved going to the stores the day after Thanksgiving as a kid. I didn’t know what it meant for those working though… Yes, I’ll pay more. Yes, my visit to the store isn’t going to make a difference one way or the other to anyone working or not. It’s just my personal preference.
There are online deals for Black Friday and Cyber Monday. This Saturday is also Small Business Saturday… I’ll take part in all that. I am, afterall, a small business myself and as such, I’ve dropped the prices on my self-published titles to $0.99 through Monday at midnight, including my new releases Love and Tattoos and The Cupcake Cowboy. If you haven’t read these or tried some of my others, now’s your chance!
At All Romance eBooks, Barnes and Noble, and Amazon, the following titles are newly marked down for the holiday shopping weekend…

Do you shop small, local businesses? They can be more expensive than chain stores, I agree. I love the feel of them though, the personal touch, and the uniqueness of their stock. Of course, it’s also Rivalry Weekend in college football so any shopping I do will be done before noon! Priorities people! I’ll also do several handmade and food gifts. I love baking for people. What bugs me is that people look down their noses at it as being cheap, but when you really think about it, it’s not cheap at all. If you’ve gone to the grocery store to shop for anything, you know food isn’t cheap. It’s more difficult nowadays, yes with so many on different eating plans and diets and so many allergies. But even then, the possibilities are endless.
I like small and thoughtful, something that means something. Of course, there are always those who are difficult to make and shop for. Those who have everything, or buy everything all through the year, or who change completely and you don’t know them anymore or what they like… People talk about gift cards being impersonal, but c’mon now… Who honestly doesn’t love a gift card to their favorite stores? I know I do!
So, while you’re shopping, pick up my books that are on sale, gift them to someone, or to yourself… I’ve gifted books a ton and I know people who love to read, always love that!
For me, I’m going to refill my coffee and head into writing. The Sticky Cowgirl comes out in January!
